When perfectionism steals your good

I pull each flower from the vase and adjust it just so, again. Eventually you will kill these flowers.

Living in perfect means never living in finished.

When perfectionism steals your good pic

Do you recognize the neighborhood? Projects and post are left unfinished, thoughts and words God has lain on my heart to share. I can’t seem to get them just right.

Michael Hyatt (michaelhyatt.com) brings this topic to the door step of where I hang out in “perfect”. “When you sit on something until it’s “perfect”, you miss a lot of opportunities.” and “What’s useless is an idea that never gets off my hard drive.”

Ministry is wrapped up in the imperfect.

The unqualified being qualified by God. Will we be sidelined from the call on our lives waiting for a flawless presentation?

Grace is what we need. “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses…” God gives grace abundantly. Can we offer some to ourselves?

God needs us to be willing and obedient. When Jesus is lifted up, He draws people to Himself. We are responsible for obedience, He is responsible for the outcome. Thank you Lord!

  1. Love love love this post, Carmen! So glad of your reminder that we can lay down the dream of perfection. There is nothing and no one perfect but Him…and in Him, we find our perfection. Not in anything or anyone else. Thanks for linking up to Testimony Tuesday!
